If you have kids birth to 5th grade, you're in the right place.
Every kid grows at their own pace. These are the moments we mark together as a church family.
Have you heard the saying “It takes a village to raise a kid?” At Mountain Kids we want to be part of your village. Through our incredible Difference Makers, Kids Staff, and community of families we are ready to partner together to encourage and support one another during each phase of a child's life.
The early years of a kids' life are some of the most precious moments we have with kids. As families you are navigating constantly changing schedules and routines of your newborn to toddler. During this phase of life, establishing routine and community is vital not only for the success of your kid, but for you as well. Mountain Kids wants to be a part of your community.
As kids progress from nursery to kindergarten, Mountain Kids will meet them at each developmental and spiritual phase. During our time with kids we will play, worship together, complete activities, and learn Biblical principles and stories which will lay the foundation of faith for each child.
Kids move up as they grow. Here is where they land.
Nursery
Infants up to steady walkers.
Toddlers
Steady walkers until age 2.
2's
Kids move up the week they turn 2.
3's, 4's, 5's
Grouped by age as of September 1.
Elementary Kids have a specifically-designed environment to meet their needs during weekly programming. Kids in these rooms are given time to play and interact with others, hear a Bible story in a large group setting, and participate in a small group with other kids their age.
It's during this phase kids are introduced to new experiences including offering and more consistent kids in their small group. We want to partner with parents, equipping you to have conversations at home that will help prepare your early elementary schooler for Mountain Kids.
4th and 5th graders are invited into weekly kids programming! During this time, an amazing group of Difference Makers lead kids through small group activities and thoughtful discussion questions. With the goal to prepare your preteen to launch into middle school.
In addition, preteens are encouraged into a midweek program called Mt. 54. This program fosters spiritual growth through Biblical concepts and the opportunity for kids to hangout with other preteens and small group leaders.
Mt. 54 is where preteens go midweek. Mountain Students is where they land after 5th grade.
The bridge from kids ministry to student life, built for preteens.
A place for middle and high schoolers to be known, find community, and grow.
Mountain's program for kids with special needs seeks to provide a specialized learning environment that allow kids to learn in the ways that best communicate to them. With a team of wonderful Difference Makers, we work to provide inclusion opportunities through one-to-one relationships. Kids are eager to come to class, meet new friends, and learn about God.
To adequately meet your needs, we ask that you complete the following steps prior to dropping your child off in Mountain Kids.
Step One
Open The Form
Step Two
Meet with the Kids Pastor.
Step Three
Schedule a visit.
Completing these steps will ensure the safety of your kid and the best approach to teaching him or her about Jesus. We look forward to meeting you and your family.
This option allows one-to-one relationships that help kids be included with other kids their age. Buddies are available on a limited basis and only as we have ongoing, available Difference Makers. If you have a heart to serve as a buddy, please sign up to serve.
Backpack Blessings is a partnership between Mountain Christian Church, EPICENTER, and local schools designed to provide food for elementary kids on the weekends. Food insecurity affects school age kids particularly hard on the weekends while away from school when free and reduced meals are available.
Backpack Blessings is a great way to do good and ensure kids are fed in our local communities. Let's make a difference together through generosity and serving!
During check-in you will receive child and parent specific stickers to use during drop off and pick up. Adults, 18 and over, are background checked prior to serving in Mountain Kids.
