Move Up Week
Get ready to celebrate in a BIG way at Mountain Kids, June 4–8! This is the week your child MOVES UP to their next age group or classroom and we’re throwing a party to make it unforgettable! Expect a weekend packed with games, inflatables, and sweet treats as we celebrate every kid taking their next step!
Here’s what you need to know
- Kids will automatically be promoted and their new classroom will be listed on their check-in sticker.
- Nursery, toddler, and 2’s are self-promoting rooms, therefore some kids will remain in those rooms based on age and ability.
- Current 5th graders will attend service with their families. This is an incredible opportunity to worship together as a family and you won’t want to miss the gift we have for rising 5th graders at service.
- Placement is based on your child’s age as of September 1, 2026
It’s going to be fun and full of celebration, you won’t want to miss it!
FAQ
Why do we Move Up in the summer?
The goal is to help transition kids as early as possible so they will be well adjusted to their new room by fall. In addition, the goal is to have current 5th graders interact with Students Groups throughout the summer and attend CIY Mix.
In addition, we hope our younger friends will “ease” into their new rooms during the summer so we can “hit the ground running” in the fall.
What room will my child move into?
Kids will be promoted to a new room based on their age as of September 1, 2026 and/or the grade they are going to in the Fall.
How do I know my child's new room?
The labels printed at the kiosk area SHOULD adjust to the new room your child will enter. However, if for some reason you think the label is incorrect, just stop by the Kids Kiosk area and ask for help,.
What if we are holding our child back in school?
Let us know and we will adjust it on the system and your kids' pastor would love to have a conversation with you about the best room for your child to attend.
Where does my current 5th grader go after Move Up Week?
The weekend of May 31 is the last day for 5th graders to participate in Mountain Kids. Which means current 5th graders, or rising 6th graders, will go into service with their families starting June 4-8. This is a great opportunity for parents to share in a worship experience with them. OUr team will have a "BIG" Church Milestone gift available to students at services. Make sure to stop by the table during service.
Can my rising 6th grader serve in Mountain Kids?
We want everyone to serve based on skill and calling. Serving in Mountain kids isn’t a replacement for attending church with your family, rather it is in conjunction with attending service. There are ways to get connected into serving teams and out team would love to engage in those conversations, however, it is best to take a “break” from Mountain Kids in order to get adjusted to attending service.
