"Called into Community"- 1st and 2nd Corinthians (BIBL 411)
Class Instructor: Dr. Lee Magness from Milligan University
1st Century Letters for the 21st Century Church -- Join us for a fascinating tour of ancient Corinth, commercial hub of the Roman Empire. We’ll explore its archeological site, its history, culture, and religions. Then we’ll turn to an in-depth study of the letters themselves—1st and 2nd Corinthians. Almost every issue that the apostle Paul addresses in these letters—unity, leadership, morality, marriage, money, spiritual gifts, men and women, the Lord’s Supper, the resurrection, Christian ministry—speaks to issues and opportunities we encounter in the church today. So please join us for this timely Biblical study.
The course will meet at the Mountain Road Campus three Saturdays: September 16, October 14, November 18, from 9 AM to 4 PM. (Coursework begins on August 21).
