Demonstrate Humility | The Separation of Church and Hate

Humility gets a bad rap sometimes. Some people mistake humility for weakness, or think it means being a doormat and letting people walk all over you. That’s NOT humility. Humility is way harder than that.

For a Christian, humility is being so filled with the love and power of Christ that you know who you are and your identity is solid so you aren’t desperately trying to prove something to everyone all the time. Because instead, you have the gift of knowing who you are in Christ.

And out of that strength you can enter calmly and confidently in discussion, dialogue and, yes, even debate.

HUMILITY IS NOT LOSING. Jesus wasn’t a loser. He humbled himself, accomplished his mission and God lifted him up; and God promises to do the same with anyone who humbles themselves in the steps of Jesus.
