“Away in a manger no crib for a bed…” Think about it. There is a baby born and no place to put it so it’s placed in a manger. Yes, a manger! A trough meant for animals to eat out of. But this isn’t just any baby, this is Jesus—the Lord of the universe put into a manger.

As you examine the lyrics to this classic Christmas Carol you'll find it upholds the truth that we read in scripture in the gospel of Luke--that the manger was planned. God had a plan to fulfill the prophecy of where Jesus would be born.
