Christmas Eve Service PIVOT!

In-person, Indoors at Mountain Road

December 24 at 3:30, 5, 6:30 and 8 PM

“It came upon a midnight clear…[record screech!]” Not in 2020!!

We’re really excited about the Mountain Christmas services this week, which include a special online service and outdoor services at all our campuses. BUT, the weather forecast for December 24th is anything but clear, and that’s when we planned to meet at Mountain Road. Rain, wind, and even thunder are in the forecast.

So, what are we going to do!? Well, it’s time again for our least favorite but maybe most helpful word of the year—PIVOT! That’s right, now that the outdoor services will be rained out on Thursday, faced with the thought of cancelling outright during this especially important time of year to be together, we’ve decided to move the outdoor services INDOORS.

We’re going to use the same set up for the outdoor services and take advantage of the large open space in the New Life Center auditorium. It won’t look quite like what you’re used to, but we’re confident we can make it a safe space AND a really meaningful opportunity to worship together. Here’s what that means:

  • Bring your own chairs or a blanket to sit on. Or feel free to stand.
  • Take your temperature at home, and stay home if you’re running a fever or are sick.
  • Sit/stand with your group.
  • Maintain 6 ft distancing and wear a mask.
  • Family-friendly service. Service will be engaging for children. There will not be a separate kids program.
  • No food & drinks will be served.

So the environment will be simple and stripped back in some ways. But the worship will be authentic and engaging, the sound of the music will be full and inspiring, and the message will be real and timely.

When | December 24, Christmas Eve

Service times are 3:30, 5, 6:30 and 8 PM

We will carefully monitor our capacities for safety, and do everything we can to best accommodate those who come, operating on a first-come, first-served basis. We do have a lot of space, but it is not unlimited. So we’ll open up every area we can while still maintaining social distancing, so everyone in attendance can safely participate.
