MIX | Middle School Summer Camp

Middle school students are invited to take part in a 4-day experience to deepen their faith, connect with each other and adults who love them, and have a week full of fun! MIX includes impactful and interactive sessions that feature worship, teaching messages, videos, and interactive experiences, group time where you have a chance to deepen and build friendships and talk about your faith, and the always fun Outer Realm game time. It will be the best week of your student’s summer! MIX is for students entering grades 6-8 for the 2023-2024 school year. Check out below what MIX is like!

MIX 2023 Student Registration

Theme for MIX 2023: Nevertheless
Being a Christian is so much more than just going to church and trying hard to be good. Being a Christian means Jesus is totally in charge of our lives. What does this mean for a middle school student? It means that their thoughts, their habits, their belongings, their wildest dreams - everything about them- is no longer what they live for. Instead, they have Jesus living in them. When we live for ourselves, we get prideful, angry, scared, bored, and even plain mean. But when Jesus lives through us, we are filled with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, and self- control. At MIX 2023, we will learn what it means to die to Christ but nevertheless have him alive within us.

Looking to be a Leader for Summer Camp?

Mountain Students is always looking for amazing adults to join the Students Team! If you’re interested in joining the team, check out the opportunity to become an Events Team Member or a Students Group Leader. Current Students Team Members get first priority for adult leader spots, but there is always a need for more help!

For this trip, Students Team Members are committing to attend the whole trip and will commit to riding with students on the bus. Exceptions to this rule must be agreed to with the Lead Students Pastor approval before registering.

Each and every Students Team Member goes through a screening process that includes a background check, and interview, and onboarding training to help set them up to lead with students well. Join the Students Team today!

Leader registration closes on June 1 @ 11:59 PM.

What does my MIX registration include?

  • Lodging for all four nights in college dorm rooms
  • Transportation on charter buses to and from Juniata College
  • 10 meals for the week with most of them coming from Juniata College’s dining hall [Exceptions: road meal for Monday lunch (need to purchase), pizza for Thursday lunch (provided), and dry breakfast for Friday morning (provided)]

  • A Group Leader(s) to invest and connect with your student throughout the week

What should my student expect at MIX?

MIX is a week at camp specifically designed for incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students. At MIX, you will experience high-energy worship, age-intentional Bible teaching, and authentic community with your friends and adult leaders, all centered around the fun and chaos that is middle school. There will be tons of opportunities to have fun and you will have the chance to walk away with your life changed forever. This literally will be the best week of your summer!

If I have never been to MIX or Mountain before, can I come?

Definitely! As long as your student is in the appropriate grade for the summer camp you are attending, Mountain Students would love to have your student join in for MIX.

This is truly a night you won’t want to miss as we celebrate all that “the LORD has done” and how “it is marvelous in our eyes.” This year, Camps Celebration will on July 30 starting at 6 PM in the New Life Center at the Mountain Road Campus (1802 Mountain Rd, Joppa, MD 21085).
